Brake Safety Awareness Month
Everybody is talking about gas and fuel efficiency these days, but this August we’re talking about Brake Safety Awareness. Keeping your car in good shape can prevent crashes and protect your investment, and brakes are one of the most important systems in a vehicle. We’re encouraging consumers to learn the importance of a safe brake system and urging them to pull into a NARPRO participating facility to get their brakes checked during Brake Safety Awareness Month.
Throughout this event, the nation’s leading consumer auto service nonprofit organization the Motorist Assurance Program wants you to stop at any NARPRO participating repair shop for a brake and related under-car inspection. There’s no better way to ensure that your vehicle’s braking and other under-car systems are working properly before heading into the fall and winter driving seasons.
During Brake Safety Awareness Month, participating NARPRO shops will offer free inspections, educate vehicle owners regarding key under car systems, provide complimentary automotive troubleshooting materials, and answer consumers’ preventative maintenance questions.
Red Means Stop
Red Means Stop Traffic Safety Alliance understands the value and importance of educating all individuals about safe driving skills. To meet our goal of ending red light running, we actively participate and plan events to educate drivers. We published a book called “Carelessness is No Accident: Consequences, Victims, No Closure” which is available atwww.farabeepublishing.com. We have a mascot named Stoppy the Red Light who goes to schools and events. He has a new book series “The Adventures of Stoppy the Red Light” http://redmeansstop.org/what-we-do/stoppy-the-red-light/.
