Bringing your car in to your local auto repair shop is something you have to do regularly for maintenance and upkeep, especially if you want to extend the life of your car and try to maintain its value.
Howard Fleischmann, owner of one of our long term NARPRO recommended shops, Community Tire & Auto Pros in Phoenix, recently posted a blog about things to remember when choosing an auto repair shop. You can read the entire post here, but below is a brief synopsis…
1) Listen to word-of-mouth recommendations. Word-of-mouth, especially when coming from family and friends, is a much more reliable form of recommendation compared to what you will see or read in advertisements.
2) Inquire first, and be smart about it. Ask questions of the shop, such as if they have a written warranty and how long the shop has been in business.
3) Compare estimates. As a consumer, you have the right to choose the shop that best meets your needs. Pay attention to all factors and overall pricing to figure out what is most beneficial to you and your car.
4) Atmosphere of the shop. A friendly, positive atmosphere in any work place is always a good thing. The same is true for auto repair shops. Make sure you feel welcome and supported as a customer.
