We are pleased to announce that NARPRO is participating in the annual Keep Your Planet Neat, Recycle Your Car Seat event from 8:00 – noon on Friday, April 18th at the North Parking Lot at Tempe Marketplace, 2000 E. Rio Salado Pkwy., Tempe. This event is hosted in conjunction with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Safe Kids Maricopa County, Western Refining, Tempe Marketplace and all of us here at NARPRO.
Many parents don’t realize it, but most car seats expire within six years of the manufacturer date. Using them past their expiration date can be a safety hazard for children so we want to get them off the road. Fortunately, car seats contain many parts that can be recycled so instead of letting them fill local landfills, try recycling them instead. For each of you who drop off a car seat at a Valley NARPRO shop, we will sign you up for a free VIP Card that offers you discounts on auto repairs and a free oil change.
Volunteers will be on hand to dismantle hundreds of car seats, making sure that all plastic, metal and other material parts are properly recycled. Last year more than 500 car seats were recycled! During this year’s event, several Valley community leaders will be volunteering their time for this worthy cause.
For those who are unable to make this one-day event, car seats can also be dropped off for recycling from April 9 – 16 at various locations across the Valley.
