NARPRO Joins Forces with the Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County to Recycle Old Car Seats

by | Apr 13, 2013 | Auto Shops, NARPRO, Safety

car seatAccording to the Center for Disease Control, motor vehicle injuries are the leading cause of death among children in the United States. That’s why it is incredibly important for children to be fastened into safe, trustworthy car seats, not one that could be old and worn out.

In order to help lower the statistic, NARPRO shops will be teaming up with the Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County, April 16th through the 23rd to help recycle worn out and unsafe child car seats.

From April 9th through April 18th, bring your old, worn out car seat to your local NARPRO shop and donate it to the Safe Kids Coalition’s car seat recycling program. The used and worn out car seats will then be picked up by the Coalition and all parts will be recycled, including metal, straps, fabric, etc.

The Safe Kids Coalition makes an effort to prevent accidental childhood injury, by offering educational resources through coalition members and the many cities throughout Maricopa County. The coalition addresses issues concerning child safety, including bicycle and motor vehicle safety, pedestrian safety, water, fire and poison safety and childproofing the home.

The Coalition also partners with the Phoenix Children’s Hospital to help keep children safe on the road, through the hospital’s Kids Ride Safe program, which will also be participating in the car seat recycling program.

This is your chance to be part of a great cause within your community, and to help save the lives of countless children.
